Suggestions as to grade range are offered per coin for early sets, and per set as follows: 1936 half (choice, significant cameo), quarter (choice, a bit cloudy), dime (very choice), nickel (brilliant finish, choice/gem), and cent (choice, appears fully burgundy-red). 1937 half (choice/gem, steamy toning), quarter (choice/gem, light hazy tan), dime (gem, a bit hazy), nickel (brilliant finish, gem and exceptionally attractive), cent (choice, bright orange-red). 1938 half (choice/gem with great cameo), quarter (gem, steam-white), dime (gem, bright), nickel (possible circular hairlining on obverse), cent (gem, blazing mint red and some cameo). 1939 half (choice/gem, light cameo), quarter (PVC requires immediate conservation), dime (choice/gem but very hazy), nickel (gem), cent (gem, blistering red). 1940 half (choice, a little hazy), quarter (gem), dime (gem, blazing and spectacular), nickel (gem), cent (choice/gem, coppery red). 1941 half (no monogram, choice or better), quarter (gem), dime (gem or nearly so, except for one obverse spot), nickel (gem), and cent (gem or better, exceptionally bright mint red). |
