Description: The War Chest Collection. Engraved by John Gregory Hancock and struck by Obediah Westwood, specialists estimate that only about 2500 pieces were struck in Birmingham, England and then shipped to American soil by Thomas Ketland & Sons. Many display wear and were probably used as pocket souvenirs, but not so this surviving "gem". Brown patina holds a slight majority over the copper-red hue, but both sides exhibit fragile luster. Struck in remarkably nice relief, with just about full details.
