Lot Title: 1909-S VDB Lincoln PCGS MS-65RB CACCAC
Lot Number: 728
Description: 942 graded MS-65 RB, 71 higher at PCGS. While hardly an absolute rarity in really any grade, the 1909-S VDB nevertheless retains its reputation as the "king" due simply to it's rightful status as the key to an extremely popular series. Do you know of any collector who hasn't, at some point, desired a 1909-S VDB? This is the "low mintmark" obverse die, which tends to produce coins of only above-average sharpness, and the characteristic, swooping bowl-like luster can be seen, sloping lazily around the fields under the illumination of a good lamp. Lovely honey-bronze drapes the entire obverse, while the reverse gravitates toward cherry tones. A gorgeous, unmarked example.
