Description: Bass-Danreuther-1 (R.4) features the obverse overdate, and on the reverse, the eagle's claw seems tightly attached to the final "A" in AMERICA. While not really unattractive, the whole surface seems somewhat dull overall, as if the coin had spent some time in saltwater and was subsequently abraded in a misguided attempt to recreate texture. This description makes the coin sound worse than it really is, as the sharp AU-50 details feature extravagant delineation of Liberty's tresses, and all but perhaps two stars on the reverse have been brought up to virtually their full potential.
