Lot Title: Roman Empire - 367-383 BC AV Solidus, Emperors holding Globe - NGC AU Star
Lot Number: 80
Description: Annabel Peters Consignment. Obv: diademed bust of Gratian facing right. Rev: Victory above two emperors enthroned and jointly holding a globe. This is, quite simply, an astonishingly attractive coin, struck at the behest of Gratian, the Christian co-Augustus. The obverse is finely centered and displays a delightful, problem-free surface that displays no particularly noticeable evidence of wear. A tiny planchet crack visible at the extreme right of the reverse in no way affects the terrific eye-appeal of this side.
