Lot Title: Ancient Greece - 4th century BC Stater, Pegasus/Athena, two-bodied owl - NGC AU
Lot Number: 75
Description: Athens Morning Collection. Obv: Pegasus in flight left, koppa below. Rev: Helmed head of Athena facing right, Glaucus (two bodied owl) behind. Intriguing ruby-grey accents lie in the recessed areas, the whole coin showing wonderfully high relief given the technology for manufacture. Pegasus rests on the coin practically in entirety, with only the tips of the outstretched wings slightly cut off. The top of Athena's helmet is also a little off the flan, but not to the detriment of the rather worthy eye-appeal.
