Lot Title: Eighty-five different large cents in a Dansco 7099 album
Lot Number: 140
Description: Only a few pieces are absent from this Dansco collection, and they are fairly predictable as the scarcest examples. Not included are all the 1793s (Chain, Wreath and Liberty Cap), 1796 draped bust, 1799, and 1804. Also missing are three 1834 varieties (two others are included), 1839 matron head, 1847/7, and 1857 small date. Earlier pieces tend to offer the less attractive grades, such as 1794 (G/heavy corrosion), 1795 (AG/Fair), 1796 (AG/Fair), 1797 (G/corroded), 1798 (VF/severely corroded), 1800 (AG, -1806 (AG to Good), and 1807/6 (F/severely corroded)/ The 1808 has a nice planchet at the Good level, but the remaining 1809 - 1814 show typical surface issues. Subsequent matron head cents from 1816 to 1833 typically grade around Good, 1834 through 1839 may average in the VF range, with occasional issues, and grades typically grade from there, up through the 1857 large date (Fine).
