Description: Gavin "John" Rose Collection. B-5, BB-61 incorporates a so-called "small date" obverse with a large letters reverse, just as called out on the slab, although experience suggests the present B-4, given an R.3 rarity assignment, is somewhat more elusive than B-5. Either side has become deeply saturated in rich lavender-grey patina that remains consistently heavy on the obverse, but does concede some higher relief areas of the reverse to more delicate greyish toning. Individual strands of hair remain mostly delineated, aside from slight wear that has flattened a few narrower strands. A technically sharp example that seems destined for a high-end collection.
