Description: O-108 shows some distinctive raised die defects through S1 and the curl above, and a rim break on the reverse connects several denticles at the extreme south. NGC suggests die-state "a", yet the die-crack above AME does not appear sufficiently developed to move this coin beyond the prime die. NGC states "repaired" as a disclaimer against very-fine details, but truth be told, the odd microporosity seems more suggestive of salt water damage, as if the coin had been buried in the sand for a long time. Abrasive attempts to "help" the appearance have created excessive brightness on the details against dull iron-grey fields.
