Description: NGC mentions "environmental damage" on the slab insert, undoubtedly in reference to the innumerable tiny pits that are characteristic of overall microporosity. That being said, it seems probable that both sides have also been smoothed, as the portrait shows evidence of horizontal abrading, and the left side of the denomination on the reverse appears to merge into the fields.
