Description: Gavin "John" Rose Collection. 2 graded AU-55, 1 higher at PCGS. C-2a marries a "punctuated date" obverse to a reverse that has one leaf placed directly beneath "O" in OF. Fortunately, PCGS has identified the lettered edge, since that characteristic is not visible through the thick rubber slab gasket. Exemplary walnut-brown patina encompasses the entire coin except where a hint of deep wintergreen-ebony traces the outline of the devices. This effect only serves to elevate the visual sharpness which is already excellent given the PCGS commercial AU level. We see very few noticeable defects aside from a small blunt depression left of the Liberty cap, and a small old dig in front of the throat. Terrific eye-appeal for this "little sister".
