Lot Title: 1900 Lesher $1 A.B. Bumstead Type 2 HK-789 PCGS AU details/cleaned
Lot Number: 292
Description: Roman Powers Collection. HK-789 (R.5), type-2, Serial# 762, struck in silver. PCGS did not provide a weight but it should register around 478 grains. Joseph Lesher owned a silver mine and promoted use of his serially numbered tokens ("souvenir medals") as an advertising medium for local proprietors. One such was A.B. Bumstead, a grocer. PCGS slapped a "cleaned" disclaimer on those broadly well-detailed example but the cleaning is not so bad as to be overly distracting. Much pewter-grey has redeveloped across the surface. which itself shows no issues or damage.
Estimate: $2,400-$2,800

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
