Description: Bert Davies Collection. A tale of two sets. Here is a pair of early issue United States proof sets that includes a 1950 and a 1952 five-piece set. Both of these sets are nicely housed in white capital plastics holders and are PQ or their given year of issue. However, the 1950 set is an absolute “show stopper” with a supreme Franklin half-dollar and two terrifically toned issues including the Jefferson nickel and Lincoln cent. It would be very likely that these pieces would be making a visit to a local grading service very soon (ck).
