Lot Title: 1936 Proof Set in a Capital Plastics holder
Lot Number: 196
Description: Bert Davies Collection. A lack of initial demand caused the United States Mint to only release a minute supply of 3,837 proof sets for the inaugural run of 1936. For this reason and several others this set has become incredibly tough to find and makes this particular lot one of great interest. Unhampered surfaces are noticed throughout this five-piece set with very attractive toning clinging to the surfaces of both the Buffalo nickel and the Lincoln cent. There is no time like the present to obtain this very tough to find set (ck).

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
