Lot Title: Two Native American Necklaces
Lot Number: 297
Description: This lot contains the following two necklaces: A) Dated February 1975 (2-75) on the reverse, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) seamed bead Native American necklace features three handwrought pendants featuring cabs of natural turquoise that appear to be from the Cripple Creek mine. While the center pendant bears the makers signature, we have not been able to identify the artisan; the nearest interpretation is HToa alongside an incised sunrise. Tribal affiliation unknown. Condition is very nice with a vintage patina to the metal. Length: 21”, 3.77 troy ounces B) Circa 1970, this turquoise, red coral and sterling silver (tested, not marked) necklace is fully signed by Mary B. Smith of the Navajo tribe. Eminently collectible, the necklace features seamed round and fluted saucer beads strung on a silver chain. The pendant is nicely sized and features 13 round cabs of coral as well as one turquoise cab that appears to be from the Blue Diamond or Morenci mine. Condition is very nice with a vintage patina to the metal. Length: 23”, 2.75 troy ounces.
