Description: Jerry Odom Collection. KM#Y31, Hsuan-t'ung Year 3 (1911), Tientsin mint. Extra flame, no period after DOLLAR variety. Much to the consternation of many collectors, PCGS and NGC both choose to "details only" coins with normal chop marks, and this is especially egregious when the so-called "offense" is so nearly imperceptible; in this case, a tiny chop mark was delivered to the beading at 8:00 on the reverse. In actuality, this is a fabulously original example boasting smooth, honest wear and gratifying dove-grey patina.
