Description: On Target Collection. Part of what makes the Indian quarter-eagle series so popular is the fact that only a single key exists within a run of coins at reasonable grade: 1911-D. Despite availability in nearly any grade, many collectors gravitate to near-mint examples that exude strong luster, even if this example appears a bit off-color due to deep yellowish hue. At any rate, the "strong D" disclaimer is important (and valid in this case) since numerous examples are known with weak or absent mintmarks. Brassy but consistent color embraces the surface.
