Lot Title:	Group of 94 Love Tokens

Description:	Tobacco Road Consignment. Some collectors attempt to assemble dated sets of Love Tokens, although almost always, there is no chance of knowing the mint of origin since traditionally, the reverse gets repurposed for the artist's conception. The consignor has included all dimes in this grouping, most with dates from 1837 through 1908 with strong concentration in the late 1870s, which appears to be the most-often used years in this cataloger's experience. The quality of engraving in virtually every instance appears to be above average, as the consignor was selectively picking up examples over the last thirty years at least. Very few were more likely used as clasps or cuff links, with the prior hardware now removed. Some are also holed for suspension and a few have necklace loops. 94 coin lot.
