Description: Bolender-17, BB-164 represents the final use of the obverse die, which got mashed up against five other reverses during its extensive useful life. By the time it was taken out of service with B-17, the lowest curl had developed subtle chipping within, while the reverse can be identified by noticing how the eagle appears to be delicately biting one point of the nearby star. Dusky battleship grey has settled over the entire surface and creates somewhat monotone presence, aside from occasional, modest silvery inflections.
