Description: The Crimson Collection. Bolender-9, BB-166. For any random 1799, B-9 is a great place to being attribution since it's the most commonly encountered die-marriage for the date. In this late die state, it identifies easily once the crisscross die breaks in the obverse right field are notified. PCGS chose to call this example "cleaned" but the appearance deserves closer attention since any such process goes virtually unnoticed. Butter-grey layers over most of the surface, and the reverse retains more than a hint of mint luster.
