Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1875-CC PCGS MS-61
Lot Number: 379
Description: Considered the third most common twenty out of the Carson City mint, 1875-CC nevertheless commands a substantial premium due to the popularity of everything Carson City, as well as a limited population in higher grades. Perhaps two or three pieces exist across all grading services that might better the "choice" level -- which is not to imply that the present coin qualifies as MS-63, but it does appear slightly nicer than expected of the assigned grade. None of the obverse abrasions could be considered major, although a lengthy sliding abrasion on the reverse beneath the final "A" of AMERICA bears mention. Terrific luster and some notably appealing butter-gold accents add to the appeal.
