Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1806 Pointed 6, Stem O-116, R-3 XF
Lot Number: 784
Description: Overton-116. "TY" are distinctly recut and that rapidly identifies the obverse die, although O-116 is decidedly easy to identify when one recognizes the extensive network of die cracks affecting both sides. These are always seen except for the extremely rare prime dies, which are not cracked on the reverse. Very little patina remains for this slightly chalky and certainly very white example, which has been cleaned at some point but has not been hairlined to a drastic extent. Not one single defect is visually bothersome but there are many microscopic digs and a handful of irregular hairline abrasions that are noticeable in aggregate.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
