Description: Walk The Plank Collection. Sheldon-9. The very dark surface has become heavily pockmarked and rough due to obvious environmental effects. Closer inspection suggest that the PCGS "F details" assessment to be woefully low from a technical standpoint, as the wreath side appears to retain XF sharpness, yet there is no denying that the heavy roughness has eradicated much of the obverse details. Given this and other factors, one might well expected the final bid to net out significantly less than that of a problem-free XF (or Fine, for that matter).
