Description: The JavaScript Consignment. The California Seat of Government Controller's Office issued this warrant on February 10, 1855 in the amount of $168 "out of an appropriate for per diem of assemblymen". Controller Sam Bell hand signed the note in distinctive, tall script and it has been stamped "BONDED -ACT 1857". Printed by Britton & Rey, the note features allegorical vignettes of Western themes - miners, Indians and waterscapes. The warrant was issued to William J Knox who endorsed it on the verso. Per the consignor: "William J. Knox of Nevada County, California, was a member of the California state assembly 16th District, 1855-56. On Nov. 13, 1867 Dr. William J.
