Description: The Midwest Consignment. Snow-9. A tiny dot adheres to the upper left serif of "N" in ONE and greatly eases attribution down to one of the plentiful (relatively speaking) die-marriages of the ever-popular 1856 Flying Eagle cent. As many collectors know, this is a pattern for a much smaller aspect cent intended to replace the large-cent, which was ever becoming more and more cumbersome for everyday commerce. PCGS mentions "repaired" and at first glance, hairlining suggests cleaning of the surface. Further inspection locates some re-etching of the rim below "1" in the date.
