Lot Title: 1910-S PCGS MS-64
Lot Number: 241
Description: The Mastodon Collection. 33 graded MS-64, 7 higher at PCGS. A condition rarity within the series, 1910-S saw a mintage not far off of a million pieces, yet fewer than three dozen reach the present MS-64, exceeded by a handful of "wonder coins" that lord over (and price far higher) than their "very gem" underlings. Here is a memorable example that exhibits unusually dusky crimson-gold hue overall, with the reverse perhaps a quarter-shade brighter than the obverse. Precisely one contact mark of consequence may be found, and it is dashing off into the obverse left field, out of the field of vision. Branch mint tens often offer great aesthetics and that is blatantly the case for this fully blooming example.
