Description: Whisenhunt Collection. 3 graded MS-65, 8 higher at NGC. The obverse strike exceeds all reasonable expectations of an 1830s New Orleans production since absolutely every vestige of detail on the obverse appears to be precisely delineated, including individual folds and wrinkles of the Liberty cap. Turning to the reverse, the only areas lacking absolute precision might be the extreme edge of a few leaves. Absolutely stark in appearance, the frosty aluminum-grey appears to show not even the slightest hint of tone, which allows strong, full luster to permeate the fields. In keeping with NGC's gem grade, very few marks visit the surface, including a tiny nick just above Liberty's bent elbow, and another venturing into the near obverse right field.
