Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1869 twenty-five cent pattern, J-733, PCGS PR-63
Lot Number: 328
Description: Bicameral Collection. Judd-733, Pollock-814, R.5. A rare entry into the "standard silver" series, Judd-733 doesn't really imitate any contemporary issues, thus creating it a nice diversion from the ubiquitous, circulating "Liberty, left" design then in production on seemingly every denomination. Because of the gloppy rubber gasket (in an older PCGS holder), one cannot view the reeded edge, but it almost appears to be partially absent, e.g. a "railroad rim". The pattern would have to be extracted from the slab to verify. A steely grey example with peach-gold accents, and a field disturbance toward the obverse right that likely determines the grade.
