Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1859-D Medium D (wrong attribute on holder) PCGS XF-40
Lot Number: 210
Description: The Minute Hall Collection. Winter 44-HH, the "medium D" reverse. Incorrectly labeled "Large D" by PCGS. Attribution of the "Medium D" can be confirmed by noticing that the left upright of "D" centers exactly over the junction of the tops of "VE", and the upper left serif stands well clear of the point at the end of the arrow's bottom feather. On a properly attributed "Large D", the points are extremely close. A bit flatly struck as always, this second-lowest-emission from Dahlonega features shimmering brassy gold and surprising underlying brilliance overall, with no mentionable blemishes.
