Description: Forest Park Collection II. Overton-110a has the digits in the date slanting left. On the reverse, "AM" are tightly joined at the base, but the die-crack that should join the tops of UNITED has barely started to form, so it is possible some collectors will refute the die state "a" offered by the cataloger. The consignor put this coin into a PCGS holder some twenty years ago, thinking at the time that it might be a mint-state example, because the luster filters through the fields with completeness, and slight variation in texture over the highpoints would frequently be relegated to "cabinet friction" effects. One can easily envision future attempts to upgrade the coin. From an aesthetic standpoint, there is no doubt about it's eye-appeal, as a deep, thick carpet of rich, velvety navy-blue, mulberry and lavender-grey thoroughly enrich the surface. A standout for preservation, the surface appears essentially unmarked, with perhaps a couple of pinpoint ticks noted on the reverse.
