Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1811 Small 8 NGC XF-45, and an 1812 O-107 PCGS XF-45
Lot Number: 780
Description: In spite of a typically shallow strike for 1811, NGC could not have called the grade more accurately as there is just enough flowing luster and bold sharpness to warrant the XF-45 assessment. This is a delightful coin with a caramel-grey backdrop accented by lovely bronze hues, entirely unaffected by noticeable contact. 1812 O-107 gets the identical grade from PCGS but some darker ashy patina settles into the fields and tends to suppress any extant luster. This is a better struck coin that features unusually sharp curls for the date and grade, and clearly visible within the shield lines are an inverted BER, the result of stout die clashing. Two coin lot.
