Description: The Before Collection. A sizable selection of early half-dollars comprises this offering, but as is nearly always case, some commentary may be of use to the potential bidder. The coins might be tabulated as follows: 1812 O-103 (XF/corroded/cleaned, with signs of minor corrosion on the bust), 1812 O-102 (Fine/cleaned/PVC residue, with rather thick residue), 1818 "pincer date" (VF, original), 1823 "tampered 3" (XF/cleaned, rather harshly so and retoned ebony-grey), 1824/4 O-110 (Fine), 1826 (VF), 1827 (VF/wiped, light hairlines), 1827 (Fine, pale), 1828 O-101 (XF, pretty nice), 1829 O-105 (VF, particularly bold), 1813 O-101 50/UNI (VF/scratched, with two dug in scratches above the bust), 1830 O-122 (VF/old cleaning), 1830 (XF/whizzed, but subtly so), 1831 (XF/whizzed, and probably also erasered), 1831 O-107 (VF/cleaned, but really just wiping hairlines are visible), 1832 (VF, superb original), 1834 (XF, somewhat chalky white), 1834 (VF/dipped), 1835 (XF/dipped), and 1835 O-105 (VF, and still retains a bit of luster). Twenty coin lot.
