Description: U.K. Lorgnettes Collection. The collector justifiably expects a proof buffalo nickel to display sharp details, but the definition seen here borders upon outrageous. Assuredly one of the best struck bison's the cataloger has seen, there is not even one area that requires the slightest disclaimer. The end of the tail is fully delineated, all of the furry texture was brought up along the foreleg, the bison's pupil has been completely incised, and on the obverse, the die was so fresh that exceedingly tiny dimples on the Indian's portrait will be found by astute bidders. Blazing with inimitable eye-appeal, the ice-white purity of the surface draws in the observer and never lets go.
