Lot Title: Pair of 1909-S Lincoln BU RB
Lot Number: 730
Description: One example was struck on a streaky wood grain planchet, not at all uncommon for the issue, and this coin has a shallow, intermittent scratch that bullies it's way across the top of Lincoln's head, sardonically reminding the viewer of the bullet from the gun of John Wilkes Booth that slayed the eternally popular President. The planchet for the second coin is a bit less streaky and features stronger orange hue, but in this case, a quartet of shallow, brief hairline scratches in the obverse left field limit the grade. The cataloger feels like MS-62 RB would be a highly appropriate grade estimate in either case for this two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
