Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1878 PCGS MS-65RB CACCAC
Lot Number: 713
Description: 116 graded MS-65 RB, 10 higher at PCGS. The "goiter obverse" die for 1878 has a small, oval die-chip embedded at the junction of the Indian's jaw and neck, and some fine die polish lines flutter around outside the lower left portion of the wreath. Astonishing as it may seem, there are half as many 1878 Indian cents certified at the MS-65 RB level as the key 1877, which only reaffirms the scarcity of this Reconstruction era emission. Marvelous brick-orange luster windmills over each side of this bedrock Gem, producing delightful eye-appeal for the specialist. A contact-free and insignificantly abraded example.
