Description: The Lakewood Collection. PCGS absolutely did no favors for a coin whose sole complaint is a minor hairline scratch that can barely be seen within the obverse right field. The cataloger suggests this half-eagle be resubmitted quickly by the new owner for a proper numeric grade, given that this is such a beautifully struck example, especially in light of the Dahlonega origins. In addition, unlike so many competing "enhanced" example, the surface appears to display beautiful, original brassy-gold color that couldn't be more ideal for this famed southern mint. A coin well worth extended inspection by savvy bidders.
