Description: Exceedingly difficult (read: "expensive") to locate at the mint-state levels, many collections of essentially BU Morgan dollars feel no embarrassment whatsoever at representing the 1895-O with an upper AU example. No studious collector would be fooled into mistaking this slightly worn example as Unc, but the large majority of original luster remains, and of course, very little has been removed by handling from the original sharpness. Indeed, the ivory-white surface shows wear has little more than a modest shift in color on the highpoints, with various strands of hair and a few of the eagle's feathers showing a touch of grey.
