Description: Cole M. Williams Collection. Bolender-3, BB-71 can instantly be identified by noting the 10x6 star arrangement, unique to this die-marriage. Die-state for B-3 can be a challenge to nail down precisely, but suffice it to say that the obverse die has been lapped such that the curl neighboring S1 is nearly absent, curls on top of the portrait are also partially effaced from the die, and on the reverse, the right edge of many palm leaves have disappeared, suggesting very late dies. Pale apricot-grey luminescence emanates from the surface, which itself is smoothly worn, without any sudden distractions.
