Description: Collectors who do not participate in the series may not realize that the 1911 features surface texture different from later issues, as the die preparation evolved over the course of double-eagle production. As usual, the surface stresses broadly granular texture that, in turn, emphasizes the softness of overall luster, and this is a particularly nice example at the (old) ANACS MS-63 level. Pretty amber-gold overall with very faint butterscotch accents.
