Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1915 PCGS PR-67 CACCAC
Lot Number: 655
Description: Savoy Letter Collection. 59 graded PF-67, 13 higher at PCGS. All proof buffalo nickels become scarce or downright rare at the superb level, 1915 being no exception. It shares a distinct satin finish with the preceding 1914, and consistently provides uniformly sharp details everywhere, including at the squared rims (barely visible within the slab insert). A faultlessly preserved example, there is not a single contact mark to be found anywhere, and perhaps one single tiny grey spot in the obverse right field might be considered the mildest of inherent "distractions". That said, a grader's hair is attached to the bison's shoulder, and provides the most aggravating complaint, at no fault of the coin itself. Fortunately, most observers will be concentrating upon the wonderful album hues that incorporate honey-green, salmon-cobalt and magenta overtones in a somewhat circular pattern around both sides.
