Description: 87 graded MS-65, 23 higher at NGC. As the lone Denver representative for the Liberty nickel series, 1912-D automatically has its place in the hearts of many collectors, and it is a challenge to locate a "nice" example at the MS-65 level. The gem offered here meets expectations for the grade, including needle-sharp definition and strictly original citrus-gold and arctic-blue toning. A patchy area at the bottom of the neck may reflect a planchet anomaly, or possibly touch-friction from storage handling.
