Description: Cross Country Collection. 1846-D/D. 24 graded AU-55, 16 higher at NGC. Given typical expectations of a Dahlonega mint product, the impression is notably strong on both sides, consisting of full delineation of each strand of hair as well as careful sculpting of individual feathers at the tail ends of the arrows. Even with better than eighty-thousand struck, 1846-D remains difficult to locate at AU and better grades, and given the retention of most of the luster and nearly all the vintage detail, this NGC AU-55 example should prove popular with bidders.
