Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1853 and 1883, both NGC MS-63 CACCAC
Lot Number: 168
Description: Watertown Collection. Rapid Reaction: 'pretty'. A pair of type gold dollars comprises this choice lot, and both are clearly strong for the MS-63 assessment. 1853 delivers unexpectedly powerful quality with a very good strike and beaming frosty luster, the grade determined only by delicate, wispy abrasions. Significant semi-prooflike appeal manifests for the low production 1883 (mintage: 10,800), an issue known for fully prooflike examples, and in this case, the grade appears to be delimited by a cluster of trivial contact depressions toward the obverse upper left. Shiny, pretty little gold things within this two coin lot.
