Lot Title: 1851-O MS-62, 1853 MS-61, and an 1854 Type 1 MS-63, all NGC
Lot Number: 167
Description: Watertown Collection. Rapid Reaction: 'plenty of zing'. Laid out as a trio, the visual impact from such diminutive coins is surprisingly impressive on account of strong luster -- not to mention the simple, instinctive appeal of GOLD. 1851-O features very little of the striking deficiency sometimes noted for the date, although delicate storage friction appears as butterscotch tone on the high points. 1853 seems slightly nicer than MS-61 and offers plenty of zing with its needle-sharp details. Finally, 1854 type-1 gets the ribbon for visual appeal, as lovely, frosted luster dominates, and the surface shows no mentionable contact marks. Three coin lot.
