Lot Title: 1825/4/2 B-1 PCGS F-15
Lot Number: 597
Description: Blackjack Can Collection. Browning-1, R.5 is the so-called 5/2 that researcher Steve Tompkins identified as 5/4/2 in his monumental book on early quarters. Pleasantly defined, the obverse portrait shows considerable internal detail for only the Fine grade, and the motto on the reverse shows pleasing completeness. One might consider a slight upgrade, but closer inspection reveals a few scratches embedded just in front of Liberty's neck and chin. Toned in reasonably original frosty grey and navy-blue.Reference: Early United States Quarter, 1796 - 1838 by Steve Tompkins, printed 2008.
