Lot Title: Twelve Jefferson nickel varieties including a 1939 DDR
Lot Number: 542
Description: Parallel Alpha Collection. The 1939 doubled-die reverse [AU-58] deserves special mention as the valuable Redbook variety, although PCI's MS-62 grade seems slightly optimistic. ANACS has certified a second as MS-63, but it is a much lesser DDO variety. NGC-certified coins list as follows: 1938-S (MS-66, sensational vibrant color), 1939-D "revere of '40" (MS-65), and 1940 "reverse of '40" (PF-66). Finally, SEGS has encapsulated seven additional varieties, including another 1939 DDR. Others include four 1942 varieties (PL obverse, bisected reverse, 5-steps, and another 5-steps), and a proof and circulation version of FSNC-02, the "1938 award winning design". Eleven coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
