Description: Annabel Peters Consignment. Obv: ANT AVG III VIR R P C, Praetorian galley with rowers, mast with banners on prow. Rev: LEG II, legionary eagle Aquila between two standards. Presumably struck at the Patrae mint, Marc Antony intended use of the "legionary denarius" for his fleet and legions while preparing for the struggle with Octavian. Test marks on both sides and retoning from the beautifully framed presentation holder.
