Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1834 Classic Head PCGS MS-62
Lot Number: 747
Description: The classic-head series of quarter-eagles was inaugurated by a sizable mintage of 112-thousand pieces, and even in the present MS-62 grade, the price tag should prove approachable for many collectors as compared to the preceding "capped head" type. The surface for this subtly dull example shows evidence of light cleaning, but that is a forgivable sin for an early type coin and may be accounted for by the fact that PCGS did not place it fully into the "choice" category. On the positive side, all the primary motifs display enticing sharpness, as even each of the eagle's feathers appears to be fully sculpted.
