Description: 152 graded MS-64, 28 higher at NGC. Ample coloration incorporates splashes of orange-teal and aqua-grey around the predominantly beige patina seen on both sides. Unexpectedly precise definition of the details is a welcome surprise for the issue, which often comes indifferently struck, and bidders may be pleased with how well the dies rendered each individual segment of the eagle's talons. The rays were soon removed from the reverse die because they greatly shortened die life, leading to this popular one-year type.
