Lot #: Go
Lot Title: 1802/0 Reverse of 1802 Good
Lot Number: 130
Description: The F. Raphael Collection. Cohen-2 implements the reverse used from the later reverse, designed in imitation of the contemporary large-cent reverse, and combines with the overdated obverse die to create the key to a reasonably collectable selection of half-cents (1802/0, reverse of 1800 obviously being a very rare coin). It is sufficient to state the grade simply as "good", despite the very dark color and typical surface roughness. Half-cent collectors know what to expect when encountering a typical 1802/0 half-cent, which is precisely the situation here - irregular surface quality and mundane eye-appeal.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
